Orientation day reflection

On the 9th December I had orientation day at Strathmore secondary school. I had to catch the train with my sister. Once we got to Strathmore we went to the gym were we had a chat to the principle, vice principal and coordinators of the school they talked to use about the school and its history over many years. After that we went to our class to meet our new classmates. I am in Chisholm with one of my friends Sam. Once we went class we got straight into some work the first thing that we did was talk about the rules and what not to do in the school grounds. After that we went down to do some science.The thing that we did in science was adding all types of chemicals into cabbage juice and see it change color it was pretty cool seeing it change its form so many times. After that we had our play lunch and got to see what they would do with their free time. After that we went back into the class and went on a big tour around the school and saw all the cool things that they had like a pool, hockey court and a auditorium the tour. The tour took up 2 periods. Then we had our pre ordered lunch. We finally had ago to play soccer with the year nines and tens it was hard and a bit scare because they were running at you full pace. For the last period of the day we had math in math we did problem solving which was fun but hard at the same time and the good thing about this was the winner got to have some chocolates but we worn’t the winner. The highlight of my day was probably just meeting new people and the new teachers that might be mine for next year as a year 7. So the day came to the end and it was time for us to go home I thought it was a really great day overall.

What worked well:

The things that I think worked well was that everybody had brought their homework and was never late to hand it in to us something I also liked was that when we were doing the podcast and our script everyone put in 100 percent effort into it.

Confederations for the future:

We should take some more consideration on how we go about presenting it and can we go the bit further with not just say that’s just gotta do.

Podcast/plus/minus/interesting.

The positive that we all did was think outside the box a little bit and staying on track with what we have to do the thing that was a minus was the organization skills that I thought could of been much better the thing that I found most interesting has to be how others go about their opinion on the book and their ideas of how to do a podcast.

Reflection extreme weather

Some of the research methods Angus and I did was going on the internet, and that’s how we found most of our information. The best site we used was the burrow of meteorology to give us the best understanding. We also use our prior knowledge to expand our knowledge on the topic and our last method we use was the EDU star bar to give us that bit more information.

The note taking method we used was using the main part of the text and write a little summary on it the put then expand on the summary we did find this method  very effective to give us our answers and get this project finished on time of the due da

Angus.k and I worked very well together we were communicating with each other of what we have done and what we need done we flowed with it and had not to many problems with in the project. Angus and I partner were collaborating good and both of use have a good understanding of what a heat wave is.

The format of our project is a power point we thought that it is a easy way to show our understanding of the topic and is very eye catching.

The amount of work that I did was 51 percent of it but Angus helped me with that just like how I had help him do his bit in the project.

The thing that I would change next time is trying to think outside the box and go into more detail by adding some of our own and new questions.

CAMP

Camp

As we all arrived at school at 7:30 to put our bag on we were all full of excitement as we said our goodbyes to our mum and dad we had got on the bus for a 3 hour drive to the ship wreck coast we were all existing as we say to our bus driver can we put the radio on he said yes and as he pot it on we were all singing along and telling some of our best jokes.

before we knew it we were at our first stop at the Narana creations that is were we learnt about bush tuka witch is food and learnt how to throw a boomerang and about what the aboriginals would use for survival after that we went back on the  road.

on  our next stop we went to eat lunch at this nice park and the went on the playground for half an hour and then went back on the bus and the fun talk about the fun experience we have had so far.

our last stop was going to red rock witch was a very cool look out and view of Geelong and it was very very height thought after we got all our photos we head back to the bus and went on a one and a half hour drive till our motel we were going to.

As we arrived we all had a shock of excitement to find out who was in our cabin we all got of and sat out sat out side of our cabin as they call the cabin roll I cant hear my name after thirty seconds I finally hear my name along with my two best friends Gavan and Luca we were in cabin 28. we we went in our cabin we got ready to go for dinner at the bistro right next to us we had a good meal and went back home and had a trivia night bad sadly my team did not win first place.and then got ready to go to bed but I could not go to sleep till 11o clock.

DAY 1

Wake up wake up its time for breakfast although Gavan had already woke my up at 6:30  playing is game I went out and eat breakfast and them went back and got ready for the big day a head of us.

As we got on the bus to go to the flag staff hill as we got there we got to go and look around and fill in a book let we got and looked for answers about the Locard after that we learnt about wailing and why they did it they did it for they oil they wont it for the oil because the needed light and for its meat.

on the locard there were a lot of people but only two people survived and the captions pet and after that they had never seen each other again.

When we finished that we went to an adventurer park witch had a lot of fun things like the flying fox the maze and many many more fun activities and then we have to eat lunch that the school has provided for use to. we went for a drive and then went back to our cabin and just had some down time and then went for dinner at the bistro and then came back and got ready to go and see the sound and light show we went back to flag staff hill and then watched a move about the locard and the went home a got ready to go home a fell a sleep very  late but I was not to tiered but I still fell asleep when we got back to or room/cabin.

 DAY2

CLAP CLAP I wake up in anger I yell stop it Gavan and then go back to sleep but but it was to late we had to get up and have breakfast.

The activity I did was kite making witch was in the breakfast room  when the  guy put the paper I had a good idea and that was to graw a head and then we had to put the tail of the kite and put the sting to fly it in the sky after all that we did our second activity.

As we hoped on the bus and head of to go to a volcano but not active when we got there and went on a walk to see bush food and animals and then had a boomerang competition but if you caught it you will get a free and a brand new boomerang but no one got close after that we went back to our cabin and got ready to go back to go to dinner and the go to bed.

DAY 3

As we get up we went to eat breakfast and then hope on the bus an go to rock pooling but that was fun but sad as-well because we had seen a lot of dead animals such as crabs a dead baby seal and many more as we were trying to find rock pool there on she said as we tryd to balance but I had fell in but we had to go out and the go fishing as I get a pole I had tryed to cast but I had no idea how to but not to fear Theo was here he helped me cast it and now it is the waiting game but I have no Passion so I tryed to cast it one two three yayyyyyy I did it but it was to late my handle had to get a another one but we I went back 3 people had caught a fish but they were girls and the boys were losing but he some more boys had got a fish but we had to leave but dont fear we had the second  boys.

We had went for a walk to a light house and on the way we had seen a few animals and then went back to have lunch and the went to the fun adventurer playground and then that took the whole day and they went for a walk at botanical  garden and they went home and got ready for the disco that starts now the music loud and people groven we got to our cabin and then went to bed for the big day to go home.

DAY4

time to go home lee yells we went and had breakfast and then packed up and then hit the road to the twelve Apollos and that was windy and they were very big but then it was time to go for a lunch brayk in  a 1 and a half we got off and eat lunch and then went on the bus home as we are entering the school were happy to get off and go home and that was the best camp ever.

Intro

the five big question is things you like about it and something you can improve on some of the questions are what makes this book good, what would make this book better and three more.

Big question 1#

what makes this book good? 

I fell that this book is good because it gives you a chance to a different world of jealousy and also very descriptive witch completes the book in my point of view.

Big question 2#  

what will make this book better? 

I think this book is good but to make this book better by settings of the book and maybe more pages because there is a lot of information and they need to expand on it not just do it for a little bite.

whats one of the mos impotent thing the author what you to know?

I think the author is try to get across is that  jealousy cant take over friendships and not to judge the person by it’s look you have to know if there nice or mean you can also become friends but at the start they did not like each other but they started to bond with each other and I think that made them good friends at the end of the book.

Why did the author write this? 

I think the author wrote this book because he might of had the same experiences in his life and now he is trying to get his point across and to all way try and come to a solution.

What does the audience need to know to enjoy the book? 

They need to know the difference between all the characters like Alison and Ashley they are very different like you need to know if there mean if there nice and so on and also don’t judge it by its cover and do not judge a person by its looks that is what I think.

Personal Learning Goals Semester 1

This semester I would like to get better at the four operations and to slow down on my maths because I sometimes don’t read the question properly in a test or a maths activity and to go over my test answers after  I have finished. I would like to not get distracted easily and to work efficiently in class time so I can get all my work done and not be behind. For ict I would like to get a better level of computer knowledge and to teach other people.

This term I have achieved the getting faster at the four operations by putting myself on a timer at home and school and portending I am doing a test. I have achieved not getting too distracted by my friends and finishing my work on time. I have learnt a lot about ict and I have learnt it by my class and teacher I think I have got a very good understanding of computers to so I feel confident teaching others in my class.

My future goals are to improve my writing skills like my gramma and much more. I would still like to know all my time tables like my 12, 8, there the ones I need to practise at home and at school. And to improve my spelling and kahootz project. And now how to lay out a project.

Math Reflection Term 3

2D and 3D shapes properties and connections.

Last term we were learning about 2D shapes and 3D shapes some o f the properties of the 2D shapes are with and length and width. When we do the properties we had to make all the shapes congruent and if you don’t  know what congruent is it means the two shapes must be the same and if the two shapes weren’t the same it is not relay appropriate to measure it because it is not the same and the all have faces, verities and edges and the base of the shape is called by it like the triangular primes

Also 3D shapes have properties but there different they are depth, length and width for this the shapes must be congruent as-well or it will not be able to measure the shapes you want and it has faces, verities and edges.

Some connection between 3D shapes and 2D shapes is they have to have more than 4 two D shapes and the both must have faces, verities and edges they also named by the base of its shape and they can both be congruent.

that is all I know about the properties and connections between them.

Note into Summary

In term 3 we did projects on Australian involved in medical or scientific research. When each group presented we took notes here are the summary we took.

Women rights

The first group we watched was Amelia, Grace and Eve they  were talking about women rights to vote and I found that very engaging because I all-ways thought that women should all have the rights to vote in parliament and I also learnt that the girls would handcuff them self to a gate out side parliament if the didn’t have the  right to vote even if it was hail, rain or even snow but then in 1884 the women had final got suffrig ans if you don’t know what suffrig mean it means to have a voice and to be heard and after that in 1921 the first girl to get a seat in parliament and that is what I have learned from and it also helped other people see what the women was going thought there life.

Atomic boom 

In this group we watched Varda. Varda was telling us about the atomic boom as she was telling she started to show us a video how the boom works  and when it boomed Japan back in 1945 by the U.S.A and alto of people died that day by it but luckily they only used the boom two times. The power of the boom is so powerful it can blind people from about 1 kilometer away and the plane that dropped the boom died to they did not have that much time to go because it takes 45 seconds for it to drop. When a shock wave goes of it can kill and still fell the heat from about 1-2 kilometers so that was sad and I learned alto from that presentation.

Isobel benet toom

 

This group only had one person and that was Charlotte she did hers on Isobel beret toom she was studying marine biologist and she is the one who stoped global warming and pollution in the world she also was specializing the great barrier reef. She also was writing books she had written ten books but in the processe she died in 2008 and was born 1909.

Professor David Craig 

in this group of three people who are Gavan, Luca and Alex David Craig was bor in 1919 and was very happy to go to uni to study and went to war from 1942 to 1944 so he was lucky to come back very early and then in 1911 his family migrated to Australia

 Andrew White 

was by Jessie, Raymond and James

Andrew was born in Queensland and had two lovely kids and Andrew had won the physical award and the horsne award.

 

holidays reflection

On the holidays I find out how to use a old fashion clock were you have to place it on the ground facing  north so it can get lite and it will tell the time but it does not have the 1,2,3 it get shaded and that’s were the time is shown on the ground.

And a fact I learnt over the holidays is why the sky is blue and I learnt it from a book that the sky is blue because it is absorbing the atmosphere in space witch is making it turn blue.

Something that my partner said was  that a new born koala baby siting in its mums pouch is only two center meter long and they still alive in there mums pouch eating or sleeping all day.

And after all of this I took away a lot and hopefully I can learn more about this.

Winter Sport Is The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread

I agree that winter sport is the best thing since sliced bread.

In winter sports I played footy it was very fun but we did not win two games I think are best thing is talking to each other and were never putting each other off or saying why did you  do that and in every game we used the four values in all of are games. The tball team only lost two games mixed netball team did not win any games but the all girls team won one game soccer won six games and lost one and draw one.

so over all I think winter sport is the best thing since sliced bread.
